Farm to Early Care and Education (ECE)
Farm to Early Childhood Education (ECE) is an approach that integrates aspects of local food procurement, gardening, and food-based learning into early childhood education environments. This initiative aims to foster a deeper understanding among young children of where their food comes from and how it affects their bodies, communities, and the environment.
A childcare program should implement one or more key components to engage in Farm to ECE. PEAS is a Farm-to-ECE-aligned program providing resources and partnerships to support ECE programs in implementing all three components.
